Handmade Bags
Making things by hand has always been a creative outlet. A personal project resulted in 2 hand crafted bags, one a durable canvas backpack with thoughtful design details and hidden features. The other a structured leather shoulder bag with refined details.

functional details
The backpack features details rooted in how the bag will be used. Side pockets to fit small items, and a discreet side zip to allow asses to the main body of the bag, for quick access
On the back panel of the bag is a padded pocket to fit a laptop.
Flexible sizing
The backpack has the ability to almost double in capacity. An internal section unfolds to give extra height, and the top flap can be extended to cover the extended body.
SHOULDER BAG
Following the backpack I moved on to try working with leather. Having never had any experience with the material, it was a really rewarding process to design and work on.
A clean design allowed details to stand out and highlight the construction methods of the bag. Vertical stitching brings the sides together around a base that was shaped using wet forming techniques. Attaching the straps a brass Chicago screws that allow them to rotate round and lie flat with out bending.
